Blog # 2

2. How does competition function in our society? To what extent is it healthy/unhealthy? Offer some real world examples taken from your life, community, culture, state, nation, or world.

Competition is what makes us function really. Without competiton there would not be a feeling of making things better however this also creates ambition and rivalry. IT is healthy because competition can push one to achieve his or her greatest but unhealthy because competition it can cause frustation because one is unable to beat his or her rival. Take the story of Abel and Cain, Cain was jealous how god favored Abel instead of him and ended up commiting the first murder by killing his brother. However the good in competition is that it can life for us the consumers have an easier life, for example Apple might lower thier prices because Microsoft lowered thiers. And this happened to me in 8th grade because many people were selling chips i was forced to reduce prices to 75 cents instead of 1 dollar. This hurt my profits but i got more clients, however the bad thing in this is that even though i had more buyers my profits decreased a bit( wierd that one quarter did this). Even thought competiton makes us thrive and push foward, too much can lead us to failures or catastrophic endings.
